- སངས (sang) is connected with the idea of clearing away / dissipating; in this context it is the clearing away of all obscurations
- So buddhahood is completely pure and awakened
- རྒྱས (gye) means flourishing; in this context it means all the awakened qualities of a Buddha manifesting
- So buddhahood isn’t some kind of nihilistic blankness where everything has disappeared
