(Tibetan: Dorje Chang) The primordial Buddha, representing the ultimate nature of enlightenment and the source of all tantric teachings. Particularly significant in the Kagyu tradition. Understood as the sambhogakāya manifestation of the Buddha, while Buddha Shakyamuni is the nirmāṇakāya manifestation.
