- Something “is there”, it is present, it exists, etc.
- Negation: མེད་ meaning something is not there, is absent, w/o, non-existent, etc.
- རི་ཡོད། means “There is a mountain” whereas རི་མེད། means “There is not a mountain”.
- Also shows location, i.e., where something is.
- It also shows possession, as in having something.
- The locative and possessive marker is a crucial particle used extensively w/ the ཡོད་ verb.
